Showcase of Inspiration: Illustrator and Animator Louis Cochrane

Here we showcase the work of recently a UK graduate in Illustrator who has had some recent success in being shortlisted for a Best in The North Award here in England. Louis Cochrane now back in his home town of Sheffield discusses more about his work and some work which is also showcased below.

I graduated from Manchester school of art in 2010 with a First BA Illustration with Animation. I’ve since traveled a little and moved back to Sheffield, my hometown. While studying I was a short listed finalist for Mr Thomas’s art fair; Best in The North when it was in it’s first year and is a competition a lot of northern illustration talent has been showcased since it’s conception.

When I came back I entered a competition to design an image to be printed on 1000 bags for life for the National Youth Theatre for a production it was doing at Park Hill flats in Sheffield, which I won. This sparked an interest in design, which I have been pursuing since.

“I love illustration and the freedom of creativity it promotes, I also love the control and self-restraint that design demands and I wish to follow a path in both.” –Louis Cochrane
