“My passion for design has grown as I have recently discovered a love for 3D paper craft. Designing in 3D using a variation of materials gives me the opportunity to create exciting and imaginative images with lots of personality. My three dimensional creations have given me originality and a unique portfolio standing out in this competitive design world.”
“Firstly influenced by designers Zim & Zou, I have now found that the art of using papers to design is becoming more popular. I am now finding inspiration from designers like Julien Valee, Eiko Ojala and the design studio Bomboland. There are so many ways you can be creative with different textures, colours, and stock which has motivated me to try new things.
My most recent projects have been designs for museum installations. I was inspired by old American sign writing and decided that creating signage in 3D would give this same realistic effect. These projects have been: Roll up, Roll up! – The Grand Travelling Circus Museum and Fly Spy – The Museum of Surveillance. Other briefs have included The Muckle Toon Adventure – branding for a cycling and walking festival and Carlisle Underpass – the redesign of the underpass to inspire children on their way to school. I am very much looking forward to an infographics project I have planned about food waste and the promotion of ‘Neverland’ the exhibition being held for the costume design students at University of Cumbria.”
