“My father was a very creative man and we grew up aspiring to be as great. He would set me and my twin sister art competitions on a weekend where we strived to impress him. We have both grew up with creativity in our blood as my sister is now a successful interior designer and I am taking the first few steps to being an independent freelance illustrator.
I started at Liverpool arts community college where I studied graphic design. I then moved to Manchester to further my studies AT Salford university where I took the illustration route achieving a BA Honours degree in Graphic Arts. Moving back to Liverpool after University was a massive change for me. I felt lost in every aspect of my life. I felt comfort in drawing everyday. I would post pictures of my illustrations on line and the more I drew the more interest I would gather which eventually turned into commissioned work.”
“Recently I have been asked to sell my work in a Liverpool One shop which has given me new found confidence to try out craft fairs and my first fair is for Capstan Baazar.
Although it has took me a while to get where I am now I have learnt that every experience whether it be uplifting or challenging only makes you stronger as a person and the work you do will follow suit. Looking back at my work from university makes me realise how I have improved from the quality to the style of work and I can only get better.”
