A graduate of Buckinghamshire New University in Graphic Arts, Faye Dennett says her real passion lies with illustration.
‘I have been inspired by illustration ever since I was a child. Many illustrators I loved in my early years, such as Quentin Blake, Nick Sharratt, Beatrix Potter and Tove Jannsson are still a big inspiration to me today. Plus, reading any book will always give your imagination a kick start when it needs it.
When working I like to keep it simple. If it can be done without the use of a computer I prefer to do it without a computer. My favourite is black pen line on off-white paper, and a splash of colour with a handy pro marker here and there.’
‘Recently, for projects that require so, I have been enjoying the use of Adobe Illustrator. Its great when I want geometric shapes, and bold colours, like for my Numberbot illustrations.’
‘I still have a keen interest in graphic design, and have much more design related work on my website. I especially enjoy creating conceptual stuff, and the idea gathering part of the process is my favourite. I’m currently looking for a very creative agency to have me, as well as writing and drawing my first children’s book.’
