“I know I’ve always wanted to be a graphic designer, probably even before I knew what a graphic designer was. I’m a strong believer in the power of branding and advertising – I think it is most powerful form of communication.
I travelled a lot when I was younger but settled in Manchester where I attended Shillington College of Graphic Design. Shillington was the perfect course for me, it focused solely on the actual skills I needed to design beautiful things and work well within the industry – making the transition between education and employment seamless.
After graduating from Shillington, I was lucky enough to be contacted by MC2 for a internship. MC2 was an extremely inspiring place to work, and I am now, even more excited than ever about my career, and cannot wait to see where it will take me next!”
“I love “making things beautiful”. Nothing brings me more satisfaction than taking a huge amount of flat copy and transforming it into a beautifully designed infographic or an interesting website with an exciting user experience. Whatever I am designing I try to strip it down to the bare idea and convey that visually in the most relevant and considered way. As Antoine de Saint-Exupéry said – “Perfection is achieved, not when there is nothing more to add, but when there is nothing left to take away.”
I am currently working as a freelance designer in London but am frequently up in Manchester, I love the design community there and I’m sure I will be back soon enough.”
