Currently still studying at the University of South Wales in Graphic Communication, Hollie Amelia has always had a real passion for the subject & is inspired by the work of Tom Whalen and Matt Needle.
I’ve always had a real passion for design and in particular the field of Graphic Design. Currently I am a third year student studying Graphic Communication at the ATRiuM, University of South Wales. During my time at university I have completed a wide range of projects, working from print design to coding alongside web design. I feel it is important to have as many skills as you can as a designer, to make you more diverse and to better your knowledge of the subject.
When looking for inspiration for projects I try to find as much from a number of different formats including design books, online blogs and portfolios. When inspiration starts flowing it leads onto many different pathways and tangents, which all make for a strong research base. Two of my Favourite designers at the moment are Tom Whalen and Matt Needle, their work is flawless and each inspiring in different ways.
I am currently working on my final minor brief, which is a campaign to encourage people to support their local high street and community by buying local produce. I also have a few freelance and personal projects to complete over the next couple of weeks. During my personal time I also enjoy experimenting with typography, as that is an area in which I would like to expand my skills in further.
