Lost Wood Series

‘My work focusses on a visual narrative of a poetic pictorial journey that involves mark making, symbolism and the exploration of the meaning of trees as metaphor and narrative. I am especially interested in researching the mythology and cosmology of work that explores ideas of image making through storytelling, oral tradition and poetry.

My iconography focuses on the pictorial potential through juxtapositions of trees, animals, symbols and figures, therefore connecting to the environment of a picture. My influences have been in artists such as Paul Klee who was part of primitivism movement and Gustav Klimt. I also found an Aboriginal artist, David Malangi’s work to be influential, as he dealt with natural elements and created narratives.’

‘In 2014 I will continue my passion in art, although in a different form as I am considering Curating and to study the creative art industry, which is my current ambition.’
