‘I decided to set up my studio here as I love it’s quirky side. As an artist I am interested in exploring the links between art and science producing pieces that represent information. On the other hand I’m inspired by the challenge of creating more commercial work such as editorial illustrations and finding the balance of creating work quickly but to a good standard. I have pushed my work into colour but have also found it important to realise your strengths for certain outcomes.’
‘I am Influenced by film, particularly those of Director Wes Anderson. His work is both charming and quirky. Symmetry, layout and juxtaposition are a few main characteristics of my work and I am drawn to such.
Recently I’ve been commissioned to produce work for Caffeine – a specialist coffee magazine. Currently I’m producing artwork that will be part of a local show at The Greenhouse (an environmental trust) In Norwich. These artworks are under the theme of ‘flight’ and are about changes in our natural environment. The show is open from 24th May – 8th June. I’m also working in collaboration with a local Norwich based art foundation called Anteros – together with other artists I’ve set up Anteros Art Labs, workshops for ages 8 – 11 in the hope that we create young artists. In my spare time I work with SAW (Science, Art and Writing) leading the art session and helping out with the days workshop activities. In the future I plan to get involved in more art workshops, strive to get my work seen and do more editorial illustration commissions and exhibitions.’
