Illustration Graduate Tommy Parker

Tommy Parker is an illustrator who has just completed his studies in BA Hons Illustration from Plymouth University.

‘I’m primarily an illustrator, working usually with line and and restricted colour palettes, but I enjoy exploring other styles and creative outputs. In the past I’ve experimented with app design, typography and children’s books. I’m just about to finish my time at Plymouth University on the BA Hons Illustration course which is both sad and exciting.’

‘Since I’m doing a lot of editorial illustrations at the moment, my current influences and inspirations include Richie Pope, Patrick Leger, Mark Smith, Victo Ngai and Frank Stockton (who sadly doesn’t illustrate anymore).

I’ve got a few projects coming up. I’ve recently finished my hobbit dust jacket as part of my final major project and I’m just about to finish up an editorial to go alongside it. I’ve also been helping to design my universities space for D&AD New Blood and I’m also teaming up with a writer to create a short comic for the university. I’m also planning on working on a few personal projects over summer so keep your eyes peeled.’
