Elie Laucher is a textiles designer, after studying fashion & textiles in France she now lives and works in London.
‘After studying fashion and textile design in France, I moved to London to have a fresh start and tons of stuff to learn (including the language). I think my style is quite varied ; childish, naive and dark sometimes. It’s always evolving but I try to tell a story behind the design.
My inspiration comes from different environment; first the city I live in, there is always something going on, and people are not afraid to experiment. Also, I like traditional folkloric fabrics and colorful patterns that I collect from travels or flea markets. In France I spent every sunday at the flea markets and brought back lots of antiques objects and old photographs, which are quite good for inspiration. I love the aesthetic of David Lynch’s master piece Twin Peaks, the beautiful and intricate designs of William Morris, the ingenuity of Martin Margiela’s brand…’
‘I’m currently doing some freelance work and I’m interesting in any collaboration. It’s nice to mix different personality and style to create and I’m looking for to do print in a big scale like scarf or wallpaper.’
