Nicola Wallace has recently completed her studies in Textiles at Liverpool Hope University, we caught up with her and discussed her work at this months degree show.
‘Studying Design at Liverpool Hope University my specialist areas were Textiles and Digital. My work is often inspired by nature which has been my largest influence in relation to my final project at University.
I love to experiment with print design, using different hand dyeing and printing techniques as well as digital prints. For my final major project my screen printed techniques where used on Silk Habotai material to create loose kaftan garments as part of a spring/summer collection. I decided to work with silk material as this worked best for me to create a draping loose garment to achieve the look I was aiming for.’
‘After my time at University I plan to continue working with 3D Design company Strange Case Collective working on as diverse range of projects.’
