‘Norwich is such a fantastic city and is full of culture so it is very sad to leave; the city alone has played a massive part in giving me a voice and structuring my work. I’m back home now in Bedfordshire for a while and really want to start exhibiting between here, London, Norwich, and anywhere in between!
My influences are rooted in architecture, structures, and gaining an understanding of how things work and piece together. Equally, I love spending time outside, biking or wandering through fields and forests away from everything. Recently I’ve been focusing more on the science behind topics and world issues; I follow a lot of publishing and editorial illustration, it seems to get the message across effectively, I also try to pose my own questions visually. I try to combine fluidity and structure to demonstrate our interference with literally everything on this planet.’
‘Collaborating with a few design students this year has been very rewarding producing some Space Odyssey books with Ashley Killen and beer bottles with Jack Fleming to highlight my interest in how illustration can benefit fields of design. Text and image is something that I want to master in this lifetime but for now I look forward to what the next 6-12 months brings.’
