‘I have specialised in image and illustration at university, however I have a keen interest in photography, branding, and publication design. I work in a fairly minimal style, using clean lines, and a limited colour palette. It was only in the past year when I really developed the confidence to be able to work in this style, and before last year, I wasn’t even drawing people.’
‘I am very inspired by illustrator and writer Tove Jannson, designer Alexander Girard and classic, minimal Scandinavian styles. I am also very influenced by publications such as Kinfolk magazine, I am inspired by their ideology living quite a simple life enjoying the small things in life. I am from rural North Wales so I get most inspired when just walking along the beach or through the forest.
After graduating I hope to be able to provide work for clients and also continue to produce personal work to sell, I also hope to collaborate with ceramists and textile designers to produce quirky, fun, and well made home wear. The images shown are from a 116 page illustrated A3 book titled “Tell Me About It”, the book was about small mundane snippets of conversation, accompanied by some text.’
