Interpreting Trauma Illustration Project from Jayesh Sivan

Jayesh Sivan is an Illustrator and designer, Interpreting Trauma is his latest project which was inspired by his childhood memories.

‘For this project, I was drawing inspiration from childhood repressed memories and its aftermath as triggering trauma. This personal project is a collection of my own childhood memories and also memories of survivors who experienced traumatic incidents. The main intention behind this project was to re-experience trauma through images and there by reduce the impact of repressed memories in the survivors mind.

Being a true lover of expressive drawings, my illustrations are inspired by my own experiences and inspirations from the people and society we live within. I am always excited to use the traditional mediums like, ink and brush drawings, mono print, and integrating them with digital technology yet still achieving a sense of spontaneity and naturalness in my illustrations.’
