‘I enjoy illustrating narratives and characters, taking influences from cinema, old photos, music and sports. I often look at the work of other illustrators and artists for inspiration too. My process consists of several rounds of thumbnails and roughs. I then draw my images in pencil on cartridge paper, scan it in and add colour in Photoshop.
Today I’m drawing lot’s of farm animals. For a project I’ve been working on with a local fabric company, who plan on using them as cushion designs. I’ve also been working on a personal project of mine, a wordless picture book set in 1920s America. About an old man who loves to build ships in bottles. However struggles to source new bottles when prohibition is introduced.’
‘I studied a BA in Illustration at Middlesex University, where I graduated with First Class Honours. I was highly commended by Macmillan for the 2013 Children’s book competition, as well as being shortlisted for the 2014 AOI awards for the Children’s books New Talent category.’
