‘I’ve mainly worked in editorial but I’ve been looking to expand into other fields recently, with a possible children’s book on the way! I’ve heard my work described as ‘paper-cut’, or ‘cut-out’ in style; but in truth I mainly use digital methods to create the illusion of paper or card.
Being from Penzance, the natural choice for a creative degree was Falmouth University (formerly Falmouth College of Arts); I graduated with a first-class honours degree in Illustration in 2008, after also receiving a Foundation Degree in Art and Design with distinction in 2005. I loved being at Falmouth due to the location and being a short drive from where I grew up.’
‘Scandinavian folk-art and video games were my influences when I was younger, though I’d have to say my current inspiration comes from my peer illustrators and the things I see in nature in and around Cornwall. I’ve only recently been signed to my US agent’s roster, so the majority of my current work has been setting up my new online profile and printed collateral to secure some new clients abroad. Its been a very exciting few weeks and I’m looking forward to the future!’
