‘Once upon a time, in the mystical land of Edinburgh lived a young girl who had her head in the clouds and holes in her tights. She would ride her glittering unicorn through the wild valleys of the land to her creative bubble high atop the towering walls of her studio castle, once there she would etch fragments of shining metal and stitch and bead and fire them together until fantastical wearable narratives unfolded before her curious eyes and…
…oh, wait a minute, that’s me! Hi there, my name is Chloe Henderson… okay, so maybe I don’t ride a unicorn into the studio every morning but I do create jewellery and artworks based upon stories.
Stories are my life; my mind is full of songs and novels and poems and fanfictions and tales of curiosities and lore and faerytales and movies and folktales and all that is glorious in the storytelling world. My preferred method of conquering a story is freeing it into a piece of narrative adorning art using newly acquired skills of jewellery design and metalsmithing.’
‘My current projects are continuations from my Degree Show work. I’m using inspiration from my “The Little (Dead) Mermaid” collection, and swimming with the mermaids has led me to continue my development within the world of 3D- design and 3D-printing, as well as pushing myself to learn more about stone setting, incorporating found objects and natural materials, and honing my metalsmithing skills, and of course continue to etch and bead and stitch them all together! And they all lived happily ever after in the land of Chloe Henderson.’
