Alex Foster is an illustrator based in the seaside town of Margate, UK. After completing a foundation year at the University for the Creative Arts in Canterbury, Alex was awarded a first class BA with honours at Middlesex University.
‘Since leaving university I’ve worked with a variety of clients on a range of projects including Anorak magazine, Hallmark/M&S cards, Tote bags for Talented, books for The Poetry Society and the Folkestone triennial, as well as Illustrated area maps and posters displayed on the South Bank and London Underground.
I’m currently very excited to be on the Guardian Christmas gift guide this year so I’m busy preparing for that, as well as an illustrated map of Ramsgate for Blue Swift gallery, and a detailed map of Margate which should be happening soon.
As well as working on freelance commissions I run a shop where I design and produce gifts from clothing to personalised prints and stationery.’
