‘My final major project was inspired by the Garden Bridge that is going to be built over the River Thames in the next few years. I liked the idea of combining something dull such as concrete surfaces together with vibrant wild flowers. The ‘ Concrete Garden’ collection has a variety of digitally printed wallpapers, cushions, screen printed tea towels and other home ware products.
I have recently graduated from The Cass/ London Metropolitan University with a first class BA (Hons) degree in Textile Design. Before this, I had been studying Textiles since Year 10 in secondary school so I knew it was something that I would love to be part of my career one day. I also exhibited at New Designers 2014 showing my ‘Concrete Garden’ collection.’
‘Since being at university I have developed most of my projects around floral designs, I love developing new ways of making a floral pattern look interesting and appealing to an audience. In all of my work I like to start off with a drawing, developing this in many different ways before I scan it into Photoshop and edit it until it suits what my final idea is.
I currently do not have any major projects but I am working on expanding my design ideas. Even though floral patterns are my favourite style I have been working on more textured designs. Having recently graduated, I hope to gain employment within a design studio or to work as a Freelance print designer.’
