Illustrator and Animator James Gilleard

James Gilleard is an illustrator and animator currently living in London, which is where he studied at Kingston University on the Illustration and Animation course.

‘My work is influenced by all things 1950s,60s and 70s, including fashion, architecture, music, technology and of course art. I spent quite a while working in games but decided it wasn’t for me and started going fully freelance about 2 years ago when I was lucky enough to be accepted at Folio illustration agency here in London. Since then I have worked on many interesting projects including book covers, magazine articles, corporate animations, advertising campaigns and more.’

‘Currently I am working on a few interesting projects – a title sequence for a Chinese family film, a book for Disney based on one of their theme park attractions, a children’s educational app and potentially a line of vinyl toys based on a popular 80s movie. I also have some personal projects on the go including an animated music video based on the Gemini space missions, a kids book and an few ideas for comics/animated shows.’
