‘After graduation following some exhibitions which featured my work I got my first design job at the fashion label DAKS and from there the fashion work just seemed to flow and that became my niche. Since then I have worked for brands such as Burberry, Jimmy Choo, House of Holland, Oliver Spencer, Lulu & Co, William Tempest, Topshop and other fashion labels.
Since starting out mainly on the graphics side of things I gradually became more interested in art direction and photography too which is where the majority of my work is focused now. I particularly like doing still life work which is why this shoot for brilliant east London shoe brand Miista and their collaboration with Big US department store Nordstrom, was a great brief. I really get a buzz from having the freedom to take beautiful products and put them in a context and tell a story. I shot and art directed this one myself but its also great to sometimes get the chance to work with inspirational photographers and stylists to bring the vision to life.’
The inspiration for this shoot came from a recent trip to Palm Springs and some photos I took there. Its a place that feels like the summer holidays all year round and always evokes a sense of fun and vibrancy but in a very unique California kind of way. I wanted to use some of the neon pastel colours found in both the SS15 Miista collection itself and in some of the Palm Springs architecture to bring the Nordstrom edit to life.’
