‘My Illustrations tend to be an exaggeration of colours that occur in nature and a simplification of shapes and forms. I recreate emphasised hues using gouache paints and a strong interest in colour theory. Colour is what inspires me most and ideas for creating imagery usually stem from this first.
I admire the work of children’s book artist Laurent Moreu, illustrators Monika Forsberg and Brecht Evens and also find myself inspired by the jungle landscapes of Henri Rousseu and the cut outs of Matisse.’
‘Since graduating from Norwich University of the Arts in 2012 I have developed a growing interest in creating illustrations for packaging. Recently I have finished working on a book cover for a local author on her debut book: ‘Confessions of a Neurotypical Mum’. I have also finished creating E.P artwork for Norfolk based band ‘Afterglow’ for their latest release ‘Time’.’
