‘I love all things colourful and patterned, especially when it comes to interiors. Whilst at university I explored many different print and 3D design channels, taking inspiration from diverse subjects to create engaging concepts. Two collections that I had the most fun creating came from very different starting points, one being aeroplane construction and the second being rainforest fauna. These collections were designed in a contemporary graphic style, turning hand drawn geometrics and pen and ink illustrations into considered print compositions. I still incorporate a number of these prints in my current collections, developing my original inspiration in to new pieces.’
‘The pieces I am currently working on are bright and bold, designed to bring summer colours in to the home. To continue the aeronautical theme I have produced three printed aeroplane pieces. Using recycled components from genuine Airbus and Boeing commercial jets I have placed vibrant prints on to metal wings and doors. These pieces are designed to be statement structures, putting to use out of service jet liners that would otherwise be scrapped.’
‘To compliment these works I have also focused on creating my first home textiles collection. The S/S’15 collection features a range of 9 cushion and tea towel designs in summery hues. Showing fun palm tree, orchid and meadow artworks they are designed to transport your home to tropical lands.
I have previously had opportunity to exhibit my work at contemporary shows such as Designersblock at London’s Southbank Centre and Tent London. Both of these offered great opportunities to develop my brand awareness and have fun promoting my designs.’
