Bec Ashford is a graduate of Birmingham City University (2014) with a Degree in Printed Textiles and Surface Design. Earlier this year she took part in a collaborative exhibition, showing her latest work with fellow designers near her hometown in Derbyshire.
‘My creative language evolved from an admiration of colour, design and pattern that has been built upon with design techniques and new inspirations and continues to grow with time and experience. Finding inspiration is easy for me as concept heavily influences my work; anything from the formation of shadows on the road to historic architecture. My work is contemporary and spontaneous, often displaying mixed media applications and a playful aesthetic.’
‘My latest body of work explores the shapes and patterns created when light interacts with it’s environment.’
