Jordan Yates is a first honours degree graduate from the Salford University graphic design course, since finishing in 2014 he has worked at various agencies in and around Manchester – most recently the content marketing company Tecmark.
‘I helped build Tecmark’s brand design and created unique online content for Tecmark’s clients. Currently I’m freelancing whilst looking for my next step in the design world.
Recently to improve my vectoring skill’s I started a project called “Pop Culture Month” it was inspired by my 3rd year tutor Tash Willcock’s mundaneaday whereby you do a piece of design every day! So on the train to work i’d try and do a line vector illustration of pop culture icons (when I had arm room that is! haha) everyday throughout October.’
‘It was amazing to see how i’d improved since starting the project, and even when the project was over I continued line vectoring – and all that led to more exciting projects, such as the recent Shape Christmas project by Made By Shape. Pop Culture Month will be on again this October this year, however this time round i’d love to get loads of creatives involved and make it a 36 day’s of type-esque project.’
